Without a doubt, the bachelorette party is one of the most anticipated and planned parts of any wedding celebration. The chance to have one last fling before the ring can either be a total blast or a total nightmare if it isn’t planned correctly. As a limo company, you can bet we’ve seen our fair share of bachelorette parties- and we’ve learned just what it takes to make the night great. Follow these tips and this last hurrah is sure to be one you’ll never forget, for all the right reasons.
1. Keep your bride in mind.
This may seem like the most obvious tip of them all, but you’d be surprised at how often people forget to take the bride’s likes and dislikes into account. Some people think that just because it’s a bachelorette, they need to go out and party as hard as they can- when that might not really be your bride’s idea of a good time. Her ultimate bachelorette experience might not be drinking and dancing all night, it could just be getting dressed up and going to a fancy restaurant for artisan cocktails. So before you sit down to plan your event, don’t forget to talk to the future Mrs and find out what her dream night would be.
2. Establish a budget and stick to it.
Money is one of the most stressful parts of planning a bachelorette, because when you take it into account travel, transport, gifts and drinks costs- things can start to look pretty expensive. It’s traditional for the bridal party and bachelorette guests to host the event for the bride, so make sure everyone invited can actually afford what you’ve got planned. Remember, just because your friend is getting married- doesn’t mean you need a 5 star suite in Vegas. Be gracious when planning the financial aspects of the party, and stick to your budget. It’ll save you from the stress of having to hound people down for payments in the future.
3. Get organized.
The moment you’ve had the sit down with your bride about the ideas, budget and guest list, get organized. This means keeping tabs on all your plans, guest payments and other party developments. Consider starting a Facebook group to keep all the information in one place. This also allows the guests to get to know each other a little better before the event. You can use the group to keep track of who has paid what, who is coming, who has crazy food allergies, etc. It’s also a great place to post photos of the event once it has happened, especially if some of the photos taken might not be mother in law approved!
4. Break The Ice
Getting a large group of women don’t really know each other together can be a little intimidating, to say the least. If you’re worried about party awkwardness, why not plan a few ice breaker type activities before the big event of the evening? These can be a few zany bachelorette party games, or even just wearing nametags with a funny fact about the guest on them. The truth is, as long as everyone is giggling- it’s sure to be a good time.
